Answer by It’s QOY… Surprise!!
Well if they were really there wouldn’t at least some of the majority perceive them? Even in the study cited in your link shows that at least 50% saw the gorilla.
When we are talking about metaphysical type stuff it is only a small minority of people that see things like that.
I worked with a kid that acquired this, it was very interesting.
I also recall one time having this for a moment. Someone wrote me a letter and wrote something at the very bottom of the page wrote. For whatever reason I just did not see the last part. Anyway the last part apparently was the most important part asking me to meet her somewhere. Well I didn’t and she was pretty pissed. I ended up rereading the note and I still didn’t see it. It took me 5 times to look at it and about 5 other people telling me it was there before I could see it. The point is only 1/6 did not see the last part…me.

Question by Sweater Kitteh: How do the blind know what denominations of money they possess?
if something cost 5.95, and she handed a woman a dollar, and .95 9because it is easier to feel coins than dollar bills), how would this play out, and if not, Should the U.S. Gov’t print out “Braille” bills? bills with holes punched in them for easy knowledge of denomination?

Not if there was specific language warning people of the danger.
However, I’m kind of confused by your assumptions; how do you know the political persuasion of the victims?
And I thought that it was very very wrong and bad to use that condition as a pejorative.

Question by Deidre: in the poem “On His Blindness”by John Milton, how is “bear his mild yoke, they serve him best.” oxymoron!?
PLEASEE HELP MEEE! I HAVE TO WRITE AN ESSAY ON IT TOMARROW!

Answer by Matt S
Its not an oxymoron. Milton is making the point that God does not need man to work for him, but rather that those who endure what God puts upon them and remains faithful are his most devote servants. Trust me, I just finished a class on Milton with a top Milton scholar. Milton doesn’t really operate in oxymorons or irony often.

Question by A♥: Did the BNP say these things? I knew they were disgusting, but I didn’t think they would be so frank?
On Women and Women’s rights:
“Rape is simply sex. Women enjoy sex, so rape cannot be such a terrible ordeal. To suggest that rape, when conducted without violence, is a serious crime is like suggesting that force-feeding a woman chocolate cake is a heinous offence. A woman would be more inconvenienced by having her handbag snatched.” – Nicholas Eriksen
On Homosexuality:
“The TV footage of dozens of ‘gay’ demonstrators flaunting their perversions in front of the world’s journalists showed just why so many ordinary people find these creatures so repulsive.” – Nick Griffin
“A friendly disease because blacks, drug users and gays have it.” – Mark Collett on AIDS
“AIDS Monkeys…. bum bandits…. faggots.” – Mark Collett on homosexuals
On disability:
“Medical measures will be taken to prevent procreation on the part of all those who have hereditary defects either racial, mental or physical.” – John Tyndall
On social mobility:
“White working class scum will be swept away by a future BNP government.” – BNP councillor Simon Smith
“The rich are genetically superior to the poor.” – Tony Lecomber
Tooth and Claw: I’m asking for a source.
I’ve seen some of the quotes before, but not all of them.
Oh my dog.
I’m happy and very very proud that our taxes pay for NHS care for the disabled. It’s part of what makes our country great. I hope you didn’t really mean what you said.

Question by bob: Should a Teacher tell his class that they are all FREAKS.?
My maths teacher calls our class his “Freak class” and he always tells us that we’re all Freaks.
He even uses the word “freak” to call us sometimes. He’ll be like, “Freaks, come here.”
And one time a boy in my class asked him why he didn’t yell at any of us (because he’s usually one of those scary, yelling teachers) and he said it was because he “Didn’t yell at disabled people” and that “All the other teachers had told him to go easy on us”.
Is this bad for our fragile egos? We’re only innocent 17 y/olds, we don’t need to be reminded what social rejects we are nearly every second day……
And we’re not actually “disabled” btw, he only says that meaning that we’re really stupid…. lol

What do you think? Answer below!
I’m concerned that I tried to speak about all kinds of disabilities, which might have been a bad idea. My interest in disability rights and issues originally stemmed from my own disability, which isn’t physical and, as I discuss here, often isn’t visible. My thoughts about these issues are obviously very informed by my own experience, and most of my reading has been about non-physical disabilities. I feel like I’m just starting to learn about issues related to physical disability. By the way, I would never use the phrase “confined to a wheelchair”–I was sort of being ironic, but I’m afraid it didn’t come off well.
