Question by Debbi L: Our government is supposed to be ” of the people, by the people, and for the people”.?
With that in mind, how do politicians justify all of the cut-backs in funding, the lack of a cost of living increase for the elderly and disabled for two years, and the fact that we keep getting farther in debt helping other countries when our own is crumbling under the weight of governmental control? if we can’t trust the government to be able to keep a “house of ill repute” in business, what business does the government have in the daily lives of our citizens?

Question by Jake Bananna: Is it important to treat intellectually challenged people like everyone else?
The reason I ask is because we recently celebrated April Fools Day” in my little berg.
My neighbour “Artie” has “downs syndrome”, through no fault of his own, no that was gods punishment for his mothers wanton ways. He’s not a bad guy, “Artie”, sure he talks a little funny and looks a little freaky, I am used to him and he to me.
Anyways he was at the park the other day, April fools day. I thought it would be funny to phone the police and say he was either drunk or drugs and was scaring my kids.
How could I have anticipated how badly Artie would react to a taser and pepper spray.
Anyways to make a long story short, people have been bugging on me about this. Saying it was not funny, saying it was explotive and in the case of the police, saying it was criminal.
Anyways “Artie” is home now.
I am going to make things up to him and write him a personal ad. Does anyone know what they call one of those guys that operates on brains. I am giving Artie a profession.

Question by Realtor J: Give me your feedback on people “working” but also getting Social Security Disability!?
Perhaps I’m just venting, however, I think it’s totally unfair that people who are deemed to be disabled, are allowed to work and receive social security benefits. I have a family member who injured her leg 16+ years ago and has been working and collecting SSD-(if that’s the proper term) all those years! And she of course gets a $ 7000 tax refund, heating/energy assistance twice a year, daycare assistance, food stamps, welfare for her children and HUD to pay her rent. She has a brand new car and I work and support my kids with NO government help and I drive a 12 year old car!! What do you think? Is it just a case of Social security attorneys and doctors declaring people disabled who really aren’t? In her case, it’s not like her leg got better over the years, it’s the same, she walks perfectly fine!!
Thanks for all your responses! In my opinion, there should be monitoring of tax returns and an income cap on what they can earn. Not everyone that receives disability is disabled, what about the alcoholics and people who “pretend” to be disabled? My on has a learning disability, but he doesn’t receive any assistance and our insurance carrier oftens denies our claims!!
