Acorn Recruitment in Sevenoaks are proud to support the Royal London Society for the Blind (RLSB) who are based locally at Dorton House. Mel Coleman from the RLSB came along to broadly discuss visual impairment within the workplace and rounded it off with a fun jam sandwich making competition. Joined with two clients from Kit For Kids Ltd, three teams of two people hopelessly made a mess but had fun in the process. Involved is Rhiannon Winn (purple) instructed by Margaret Sarjeant (black top); Geoff Newman (green t-shirt) instructed by Lindsay Castling (checkered black and white top) from Kit for Kids; and Jeff Wheeler (blue shirt) instructed by Margaret Saunders (purple shirt) from Kit for Kids. At least one in three people with a learning difficulty will also have serious sight loss. We believe the figure may be significantly higher. Over the last ten years RNIB has assessed the vision of more than 500 people with learning disabilities. We found approximately 80 per cent had some degree of sight loss. Often this sight loss had previously gone undetected. Our aim is to identify sight loss and create opportunity by increasing awareness of: * the prevalence of under-detection of sight loss * the consequences for people with a learning disability. Visual Impairment and Learning Disability Services (VILD) have a recognised excellence in supporting people with a visual impairment and learning disability. Watch our 4-minute DVD to see how we support people, from their functional vision assessment through to practical rehabilitation support. We also have specialist expertise in providing sight tests for people with a learning disability.

he told her to go down on him and she did it. She can see what was going on and didn’t even try to grab the gun or stop the men from killing one of the girls.

Question by Sweater Kitteh: How do the blind know what denominations of money they possess?
if something cost 5.95, and she handed a woman a dollar, and .95 9because it is easier to feel coins than dollar bills), how would this play out, and if not, Should the U.S. Gov’t print out “Braille” bills? bills with holes punched in them for easy knowledge of denomination?

Choosing the right housing is crucial. Action for Blind People believes that decisions about your housing options should not simply be influenced or restricted by your visual impairment. You will have other expectations and aspirations as well. We all want different things from life and the choices we make about housing are influenced by many factors. Take a minute and think about what home means to you.

Alarmingly, more than 16 million people in the US and 314 million worldwide report some form of visual impairment. “VisionZone: You’re Not Alone Anymore,” a creative short film written/directed by notable Funny Or Die filmmakers “a bick/antzis thing” (Drew Antzis and Tamara Bick), features an atypical perspective on disability and vision loss through the use of truth and comedy. It was created to support Optelec’s VisionZone, a new nationwide movement to promote ocular health awareness. The short film features a fictional character/non-fictional man with an unrecognizable visual impairment, Brian Fischler, a legally blind stand-up comedian and Founder of Laugh for Sight not-for-profit who was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa in his teens. It was shot throughout San Diego, including footage from Acqua al 2, a popular Italian restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter. “VisionZone: You’re Not Alone Anymore” chronicles Brian’s challenge of doing something we all take for granted — independently ordering and eating at a restaurant. Brian then walks through downtown San Diego to later reach the VisionZone “heavens,” where he discovers video magnifiers, travels to Paris (yep!) and flirts with the ladies. VisionZone’s film is a casual and light-hearted way to educate mainstream public; providing the viewers a glimpse at living with low vision and the before/after benefit of utilizing assistive technologies and community support to empower ones’ disability. VisionZone is the low …
Question by Cloud: What am I missing out being born blind?
Are movies/films/tv shows really all that great?….because the sounds, musics, and voices sounds good…..all I can do is sit there and just listen…can’t even imagine…..imagine what? …the darkness?
And the colors….i know most all the name of colors….but I don’t know what color the colors are…..if only I could see for one day?
**If u wonder how i see the p/c screen….obviously, i don’t….how i read all your answers……my printer prints out in “braille” so i can read by feeling with my fingers……..and yes, i can read them just as fast as you read by seeing…..Thanks all for responding to my question above!
I am blind….born blind and will probably for the rest of my life until a miracle of some sort happens…..in the mean time it’s so frustrating.
Sorry if I should mispell any words…I try my best not to but it does happen occasionally.

Answer by WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME????
Hi there…your question really really interests me…
When you think about these people around you…how many are able to see and to read normally? I guess there are a lot of them! But the true question is how many of them are truly happy? Well as for me I think that less than 10% of these people who own almost everything r really happy! And getting a perfect life is so impossible I mean I know a friend of mine who is having the money, the fame, the health and almost everything that anyone could want, but her family’s issues have broken her down and destroyed her! And as for me I believe that Allah or God…when he gave us gifts or didn’t do so….he did all of that to test us! I mean when God gives the money to someone he tests them to see wither they are going to spend it on bad stuff or use it in a good way….and when God makes someone poor he tests him…wither he will try to enhance his life by finding a new job or he will be a thief and get the money by prohibited ways! And God is always fair, I mean to those who lost things in life and could cope with that, God won’t forget them and he will always support them…and I had been there, I mean I am still at school and I need to get the best marks sothat I can go to a good university, but I wasn’t so lucky to have a great life conditions…that’s because I’ve been abused for 10 years now!! But although God didn’t give me the love which I needed to live my life as everyone, God has helped me with each exam or test I ever had before!! So believe me you are not alone almost everyone in this life has lost something but the challenge is to find a way to live your very own life according to what you have and what you are getting through…
And answering for your question…nah movies r crap all what the companies care about nowadays is stealing money…and about the colors…well they all are the same but what makes them special is how you feel, because when you feel in a particular way you start to like some colors more than others…but at the end it’s all about using your mind and feelings to enjoy a certain color! And you really don’t have to see them to enjoy them…I mean you can enjoy them by feeling them…like when you feel the love try to touch anything red because its strong just as love, when you feel pure touch anything white because it has no color just pure! When you feel like you are happy touch the blue because it’s calm and cheerful! Pink is like girls..haha…it’s just gentle and you have to be easy on it..kidding… gold, it feels like being wealthy and having the power! Green feels like nature, you know the smell when you go to the park, so green is pretty much like it. So as I said you will never enjoy the colors if you saw them the same way you would enjoy them if you felt them!!
Sorry if my answer was too boring or lame…and for sure sorry for my bad English!!
I am not a native English speaker!

Question by Terrie: Why are liberals “blind” to the obvious?
Yesterday I met a business man, born in Turkey, whose family had been murdered by Islamic Militants and ONLY because they were Jewish. This mans perspective on America was interesting, especially in that he recognizes the same Muslim takeover in America as he saw in his own country. He expressed frustration over the “blindness” of liberals in this country, most of whom have never been under and/or seen oppression the likes of which he has lived, much less lost their entire families.
Okay … Z H is it? I think YOU are the one who needs an education of Iran. The Jews in Iran are not quite as “free” as you would like to suggest. Check this out junior….http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/anti-semitism/iranjews.html
You really should look at what the Jewish people are saying and not your friends in Iran. I bet you believe that the U.K. really went into Iranian waters, huh?
Now for “Moonman” – you need to pull your head out of your own moon. The Islamic Terrorists may be YOUR people but they sure as heck are not mine. Ethnic cleansing sounds GREAT. It would be the first smart thing this country has done since electing Ronald Reagan.
Mamagreen – check your picture out if you need a little help on what a crackhead looks like…though somehow I think you might already know. Yeah….back in 2001 the Europeans thought the Muslims were GREAT – hmmm, I wonder what they are thinking today? What about Denmark and Norway? Remember the riots in France and the bombs in Madrid – yeah…..those poor, unfortunate terrorists. Would you join ranks with the devil because he had the same color skin. Read a history book if you need to know about “white oppression” – most Jews are white dork.
90292 – isn’t that the zip code for Venice beach? OMG – LMAO. You really shouldn’t open your pie hole.
Eatmorecrack – is that a burning American flag? You are not worth the vomit your mom gave up the day you were hatched.
