It is Hope, the mercy of the Lord is promise here.

Question by Tasha Delacey: Is “moon blindness” real? what caused this. pics?
she is a 4 yr old stock paint mare. she is pregnant. Her eye just recently changed color in the pupil. The lower half is pretty much all white, and it goes up like smoke to the top of her eye. She can still see out of it just fine. Someone said she may have been kicked (if so will this go away?!) or that during certain time of the year horses get moon blindness in some horses and it has something to do with the moon.

Ya it is real. She may just have scratched her eye. I would get some antibiotics in her eye ASAP. Maybe have a vet look at it to be sure exactly what it is.
There are a couple of different possible causes for the condition. It is commonly believed that parasites, viruses and bacteria are major culprits. It is also possible that injury or trauma to the eye could cause the condition. It is likely that if the eye is injured, bacteria could find their way to the eye and cause an infection. It is important to remember that moon blindness is a recurrent condition. Even if a horse’s eye is back to normal, another future episode of moon blindness could happen. Succeeding episodes are more serious and more difficult to treat.
