Did you test the cancer? Today marks 2 years since my cat had her rear left leg amputated due to a vaccine associated sarcoma. What are your thoughts and experiences with VAS?

My kitten is 10wks old and I took her to the vet and they said she needs her back left leg amputated because she has no socket in her hip to hold the leg and she will only get hurt if she keeps it…

My cat Zoe had to have one of her front legs amputated. She was fine and could still always run faster than me and climb the tree higher than I could. We think it was a car accident. She was 1.5 years and she came in with a flat leg and a broken jaw. Her saving grace was that she came straight to the back door and didn’t go away to hide. They left a stump though that got infected and they had to take the whole leg off which they should’ve done in the first place.

Thank you so much. This video has helped me to prepare for my kitty’s upcoming surgery. I’m feeling much calmer.

We have an amputee moggy who lost her leg over 10 years ago now. She’s a belligerent old boot and is fine. She learnt to adapt very quickly and as she’s getting older she is happy to potter about and survey her kingdom still! Perdoink perdoink perdoink (amputee owners will know *exactly* what I mean, lol.)

True. I have a cat that is getting and amputation done on her this Monday. She is making around just find…but the ignored leg/paw is only getting in her way. She can stil climb her scratching post and jump on things and get into her litter box and other things as before…just differently. She had left and gotten loss and through much prayer Jesus brought her back to me. The vet who saw her was amazed that she even made it back alive and hadnt bled to death (We think she was caught in a trap)

Dont worry. I have had kitty with amputated leg and he never let it stop him. Yes he had to do things differently, but he was still able to do things…and he was still himself. It didnt change his personality.

My cat just went through this process with one of his back legs. I was worried about him adjusting to life on three legs but this video is 100% correct- he has had a fast recovery and after only one week he is getting around as if nothing has changed!!
