iLimb Pulse hand prosthesis: Switching between grip patterns

This is the new iLimb Pulse prosthetic paw. I’ve been victimisation it for about quartet month. You tin bowman the mitt to commutator to up to quaternary putout of octonary available clutch style or clutch pattern with an included package. The package connects to the manus via bluetooth. I use a co-contracture for changing from the default clasp way to carpus circumvolution. That mean that I send a simultaneous musculus signaling to both electrode. That is very useful for a mess of thing, for representative pouring drink. I activate my S grasp way by sendeing 2 region impulses to the gap anode. My sec clench fashion is called preciseness difficulty. It move the Index pollex in resistance to the pollex. It is very useful for pick up size object. My next clutches manner is called scale attracter. I activate it by sendeing trey region impulses to the gap anode: One, deuce, deuce-ace. It is very useful for typing. My rank clutch manner is called pollex parkland. I activate with a clear signaling that finale solon than II second. The mitt then parkland the quaternion finger and only move the pollex. That is very useful for donning and doffing wearable. In summary, I tin tell the i-Limb to do quintet differnt thing: Move all finger, rotate the carpus, go to difficulty style for pick up size object, attracter putout the scale thumb for typing, and parkland all finger but the pollex. Each style is associated with IT own authority signaling, so there is no “bicycling through” style. Any way tin be activated from any other manner. It is the most advanced

This looks bloody amazing!! If this question dos not seem weird but is it weird being able to rotate your hand more then 360 degrees? I hope you get great joy out of it. =)

I’d stick to a real Bionic Hand

  9. jjovereats says:

@myowelt good example, now you need to improve the actual thing by working on the prosthesis with your one real hand. You need to make it such that it does not cause gangrene, such that it lets you type as quickly as I can type, etc. Also, if you ever need Linux, is there a version for Linux or will you create that yourself?

@Jonasv20 I hope they get to be on par with “real” or “natural” hands. This is the research that is worth, what is the price for a hand? which price would you put to your hands? I still don’t know what is LHC good for, for instance.

  11. MegamaXX500 says:

    yes, but can it love?

    @myowelt

how old are you man? just wondering. Perhaps you could have an upgrade in 10 years!

  13. Jonasv20 says:

oh i thought those hands had the same functionalities as real fingers… that you could really move them independently. I guess that’s the next challenge in prosthetics :p

  14. gismoe86 says:

@myowelt not to mention that this is a limb, not a weapon.

@myowelt Thanks for answering my questions.

  17. myowelt says:

@InfectiousShroomKid The connection to the computer is wireless via bluetooth. The control software is a few megabytes and afaik TouchBionics is already working on a version for handheld devices. The grip force in power grip mode (all fingers moving) is 10.2kg (100N) without pulsing and 13.9kg (136N) with pulsing.

@myowelt Excuse me sir but Adam Jensen never asked for his prosthesis. It was total “accident” and still most of the people hated him because he become more than a human…and yes i’m gaming nerd sorry :D

  19. AnimusPipboy says:

@jfrizzlle He never asked for this…

  20. InfectiousShroomKid says:

Few questions. What kind of connection does it use for your computer and is the interface program used very large? I was wondering if it would be possible to perhaps put the program in a portable device. Also, how much gripping power does the prosthesis have (like a pound limitation and psi? Sorry if this is too technical, I am just curious.

  21. TornaDoza says:

@myowelt actually, the main character of the game never asked for the replacement. in some way, he lost his hands in an accident.
