Question by The: What happens if there is a draft during a war, and you are called upon to go, except you a incredibly obese?
What if you are way overweight, to the point where you can’t run more than 30 feet at a time and your gear does not even fit you. Do you just get left behind on some sort of “disability”? I mean, an obese guy would end up being a danger to the other soldiers who are fighting, since he would not be capable of doing anything physical.
Also, if America has to do another draft for some reason….is it basically fucked because of all the fatties there?
Kind of an odd question, but this thought just popped into my head…..

4F….they dont take you
They use you as a movable pontoon for carrying equipment.
THere are height and weight requirements so the person would not be deemed fit to serve.
It doesn’t matter what’s wrong with you, if your number comes up you have to go to the draft board. Once you get there they’ll make the determination on sending you or not. If you show up and you’re 5’6 and 300 pounds you won’t be going anywhere. Also, I wouldn’t be too worried about the population. While it’s estimated that only 20-25% of Americans between 17-41 are qualified to serve that amount is still more than the amount of troops we have in the military right now. Our total population is over 300 million but we only have around two or three million people in uniform throughout all active, reserve, and Guard components.
if you are drafted. you would report to the selective service induction center. Then then they will determine your edibility and be classified. If you are 4f means you are not able to be fit to serve.
This is just a guess, but I imagine that they would lengthen your service term and send to a weight loss boot camp. I’m overweight like that, and the marine recruiters told me that they had a weight loss boot camp to go to before I did the whole marine thing.
It seems like they’d do the same thing in a draft.
There hasn’t been a draft in 37 years.
Why are you worrying about a draft ?
Watch the movie “Full Metal Jacket” and see what happens to Pvt. Pyle. lol
