Question by fognearcoast: Someone must have thought of this….as always, $ $ $ are likely the hang-up…?
an amusment park designed to lock/secure wheelchair apparatus for any kind of ride. How cool would it be to be able to ride like “drag wheelchairs”..you know, fast…just for a safe/secure but hairy ride?

Their are significant liability issues that would arise from such an arrangement.

i do not think this will ever happen – i have seen them remove the individual from the wheel chair and strap them into the seat of the ride- but to strap a wheel chair down i do not see this happening in the near future
its possible, they have roll on/roll off swings available for wheel chair users, used to be a service user at a mencap day centre which had one of these swingsets in the garden.
if that is possible, then technically,a amusement park ride with specialist attachments for wheel chairs shoud be possible, but there woud be a limit to how far it coud go probably,eg-how woud it work for upside down, how woud the harness work etc.
that would seriously limit the number of rides they could have..
it can be done on things like a train, merry go round, boat ride, ferris wheel…but not on most hgh thrill rides
at best they would have to have their own wheelchair made specifically to fit the ride and the user would have to transfer from their personal chair..many rides are accessible to wheelchair users whocan transfer to the ride seat.
