Question by Fred: Would throwing billions more $ ‘s into predominately “black” schools really help the results?
They already get 5 times as much per student as say, Montana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, ETC. That, plus free breakfast, lunch and in many cases, dinner. And not the usual comeback “It is poverty and lack of hope”. Many very poor in West Virginia and they manage to at least go to school and graduate at 3 times the rate of those in Detroit. Even in “mixed” schools with the same everything at “home” the blacks lag far behind. I know someone that has a kid with “Downs Syndrome”, no matter how much money they throw at her, she still just is different, yes they tell her she is just the same as everybody else, but they know different, same as these black schools. Not a rant, but any legit answers why most blacks just ain’t got it?

I think there are a number of factors besides poverty that make predominately black schools not perform well. Some of them we can’t eliminate completely like social norms, the media, and violence. Poverty is only part of the problem. It’s a vicious cycle so giving them more money isn’t going to change the results.

The situation with Downs Syndrome is different. Of course she is not going to cured of Downs Syndrome. They want her to have a happy, healthy life and be as functional as possible. The goal is not to make her more normal but to help her live up to her full function as an adult.

No, but I’ll tell you what would.

Black teachers who understand black kids and how to deal with them. They need a free hand in discipline and curriculum. Black kids did much better when schools were segregated because clueless white middle class liberals weren’t their teachers then. Black teachers didn’t have to adhere to white standards and knew what style black kids learned best under.

Combine the above with more money and black kids will improve drastically, but sorry, never to the level of whites unless the standards are black standards set by black people.

The fallacy of racial sameness has harmed black children to the point that it’s mental abuse. It’s also mental abuse to blame white people because equal rights didn’t translate into equal results.
