the movie was great until I saw a VW New Beetle in the background in a scene
I love this movie. It’s one of my favs. It is actually very realistic in conveying how absolutely depressing the bar scene is when it comes to meeting a man (or woman for that matter), and how we often give in so easily just for that feeling of being wanted by someone.
uma’s character tries so hard to be loved, accepted by men that i cringe when she fails miserably. i feel so bad for her.

the scene where uma tried to talk to that guy but he pushed her off and told her to sober up then left… i felt rly bad for her

amen…just this scene is brilliant from start to finish…the pain is palpable and both actresses are brilliant…I’d have never thought Thurman could pull something like this off, she hits perfect pitch.
a sleeper of a movie that everyone should see – brilliant acting and a great performance by my favorite genna rowlands!!!
