Question by Travis: what was the cause of the blindness on the movie “blindness”?
I just watched the movie the blindness from 2008, and i dont understand what caused the blindness to happen in the first place?

Neither the film nor the book by Jose Saramago it’s based on explain what caused the blindness epidemic, it’s really not the purpose of the story.
Instead, the tale focuses on how poorly governments can deal with emergency situations, and how people deal with each other when they can’t see and make predetermined decisions of who they are dealing with.
There’s a book sequel called “Seeing”.
